These additions are designed to better reflect real-life communication skills. Don’t worry; Pearson has prepared updated study materials to help you feel confident and ready.

Improved Scoring with a Human Touch

PTE remains AI-powered, but now there’s a little more human involvement for longer responses. That said, AI still scores your oral fluency and pronunciation, keeping things fair and consistent.

New Rating Scales

To better assess your performance, Pearson is introducing updated rating scales. This ensures even more precise scoring that reflects your true abilities.

What’s Staying the Same?

The test is still 100% computer-based.
You'll still get fast results: typically within 48 hours.
It’s still accepted by 3,500+ institutions and governments worldwide, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK.
