University of Manitoba
The Master of Arts (Geography), offered by the University of Manitoba, is the logical progression for graduates from a Bachelor of Arts program. However, students interested in Physical Geography, who do not wish to pursue the Master of Science (Environment and Physical Geography) may also enroll in the program and study many areas of Physical Geography as well as Human Geography.
We offer a bachelor degree in Physical Geography at the University of Manitoba. Physical Geography examines the natural and physical systems of the Earth including the atmosphere, biosphere, cryosphere (ice and snow), hydrosphere (water) and lithosphere (land surface).
Geography is a broad synthesizing discipline that studies humans and the Earth by focusing on the themes of place and space. Geography is therefore not an encyclopedic listing of capital cities, mountains and rivers, but rather an understanding of the causes, effects, implications, and importance of these and other features. This program is offered by the University of Manitoba.
Students who elect to major in the Geography program at the University of Winnipeg will find readily accessible faculty and greater personal attention than they might receive at larger institutions oriented more toward graduate students.
The most common way to assess your English level is by taking a standardised English test, such as:
PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English)
TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System)
C1 Advanced (formerly known as CAE – Cambridge English Advanced)
What makes PTE Academic stand out among these renowned English exams is the use of A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) to correct the answers of tests takers. This ensures that the results are unbiased and offer a 100% objective evaluation. Another great advantage of using A.I. is speed – results are typically available within 2 business days after taking PTE Academic.
Geography degrees teach students about places on Earth and the relations between humans and natural environments. During classes, students learn about the physical properties of Earth and its resources, as well as its inhabiting human societies. Geography graduates find jobs as cartographers, environmental consultants, town planners, school teachers, and more.
