The "Systematic Product Innovation" Summer School is conceptualized and conducted by the Institute for Engineering Design (ikt) of the RWTH Aachen University. Within this intense two-week programme students not only get insight to established and cutting-edge methods and processes of product innovation and development but also gain relevant experience in hands-on workshops featuring the analysis and improvement of a real life product. Students learn to carry out market research, identify and evaluate requirements, set up functions and their structures and to derive and vary concepts for product innovations. These concepts will be transferred into a suitable embodiment design using conventional and agile methods including rapid prototyping technologies.
