Utrecht Summer School

This course familiarizes students with the theory and use of four analytical toolkits for making "true" comparisons of energy options: lifecycle carbon footprints; waste management parameterization; operational risks; and resource rationing. Each course week covers one toolkit with discussions and lectures based on recent publications, an expert guest lecture, and small group work on comparative assessments of energy option pairs from the set: {wind, solar, wave/tide, coal + CCS, shale gas, nuclear}. Through peer evaluation, the best student assessments will be combined to produce a single, interdisciplinary and jointly levelized cost comparison.
The most common way to assess your English level is by taking a standardised English test, such as:
PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English)
TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System)
C1 Advanced (formerly known as CAE – Cambridge English Advanced)
What makes PTE Academic stand out among these renowned English exams is the use of A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) to correct the answers of tests takers. This ensures that the results are unbiased and offer a 100% objective evaluation. Another great advantage of using A.I. is speed – results are typically available within 2 business days after taking PTE Academic.
Energy Engineering degrees prepare specialists who deal with energy efficiency, alternative energy systems, and energy services. Students learn about renewable energy sources and reducing the amount of energy used by communities. Power Engineering studies teach students how electric power is generated, transmitted, and distributed. Classes analyse power and distribution systems, how they work, and ways to improve them.
